The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are a resident of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialize with one another.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will facilitate creative activities playing a key role in promoting creativity, fostering artistic skills, and providing opportunities for clients to explore and develop their artistic talents. As an Arts Crafts Activities Leader, you will learn a set of skills such as creativity, project management, event planning, and exhibition.
Typical duties include:
- Creating a diverse range of art and craft activities suitable for clients
- Preparing resources prior to the beginning of a session ensuring workshops run smoothly and meet the needs of participants
- Instructing participants in various art and craft techniques, demonstrating the process, and providing step-by-step guidance
- Encouraging participants to explore their creativity and express themselves artistically
