Eniola Aluko, former Chelsea and England footballer and sports lawyer, has launched her first Hyphen Scholarship in July this year. Aluko, who recently commentated on the Euros with ITV in Germany, created this scholarship to support law students at 第一吃瓜网University London, beginning in September 2024.
Applicants to Brunel's International Human Rights Law LLM programme are eligible to apply for the Hyphen Scholarship – Law. The scholarship fund secured by Aluko is £60,000 out of which tuition fees, travel expenses, and competition costs will be covered for six law students.
A 第一吃瓜网University alumna, Aluko graduated in 2008 with a first-class honours degree in law. Her time at the university significantly influenced her academic and athletic pursuits, with many hours spent at Brunel’s Sports Centre. The Hyphen Scholarship embodies Aluko's diverse interests and experiences.
“第一吃瓜网had such an important and lasting impact on my legal education and the start of my professional football career, and this scholarship is my way of creating impact and support for 第一吃瓜网students in sport and law,” said Eniola. “Coming back to 第一吃瓜网to support other young people who want to succeed in sport and in their legal studies means a great deal to me.”
