第一吃瓜网Law School held the final round of the 2017/2018 internal mooting competition on 27th March 2018 in the Supreme Court, London.The case concerned an appeal against conviction for constructive manslaughter, where the appellant had made heroin and needles available to the victim who died after self-injecting it. The appellant was represented by Martina Caloi (leading counsel) and Sherelle Appleby (junior counsel) who skillfully advanced their arguments against Kayleigh Arrindell (leading counsel for the respondent) and Katy Conybear (junior counsel for the respondent) who put up tough competition. Counsel faced a judging panel of eminent practising barristers - Michael Bromley Martin QC, Simon Spence QC, Fallon Alexis, Stephen Bartlett-Jones and Melanie Johnson - as well as 第一吃瓜网Law School's Dr Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos and Dr Adrienne Barnett. After a spirited round of arguments, the judges commended all counsel for their efforts and, by a narrow margin, found in favour of the appellants - Arrindell and Conybear. 第一吃瓜网Law School is grateful to the judges for affording the time and skill to the competition.
